Stock Market & Weekly Expiries:

Once upon a time……

There was a shop which initially used to sell Bananas and Apples only on Thursdays.

Then it started selling Oranges on Tuesday apart from selling Bananas and Apples on Thursdays.

Seeing a lot of customers, apart from Bananas, Apples and Oranges, it started selling Guavas on Wednesdays

A new shopkeeper saw the crowd and opened a new shop next door on Fridays selling a different variety of Bananas and Apples. (Modified Bananas and Modified Apples)

The old shopkeeper was shocked. He announced that he will now onwards sell Bananas on Thursdays and Apples on Fridays. (Maybe to kill competition)

But seems a local elder who both respected convinced the old shop keeper not to open his shop on Fridays. (Because competition is good)

So the old shopkeeper agreed and changed his plan. He started selling Guavas on Monday, Oranges on Tuesday, Apples on Wednesday and Bananas on Thursday. Friday now belonged to the new shop keeper.

The new shopkeeper has now planned to sell Modified Apples on Monday and Modified Bananas on Fridays. Hoping to see some crowd on Monday too.

Old shopkeeper also for some reason has planned that  while he will sell Apples on Wednesday and Banana on Thursday, in the last week of the month, he will close shop on Wednesdays and sell both Apples and Bananas on Thursdays.

Customers are amused and confused.  A new vendor is now selling a calendar marking which shop and which product will be sold on which date.

While the old shop is seeing a growth in business, new shopkeeper has started to do well too.

Thankfully, the laws don’t allow opening shops on Saturdays and Sundays. However, there is a  debate that the shops should now be open from 9:15am in the morning and instead of closing at 3:30pm, it should be open till 11:00pm in the night.

The story doesn’t end here…..it continues….. Let’s see how it takes shape in times to come.
